EV Sales Continue to See Explosive Growth in 2025
EV sales in August continued this year’s trend of incredible growth over 2024. The 2,126 new electric cars registered last month represent a 69.3% increase on the same period last year.
So far this year 20,656 new electric cars have been registered, 37% more than the 15,122 EVs registered in the first eight months of 2024.
The BYD Sealion, which came on the market this summer, was the best selling EV last month. The Hyundai Inster, also a relative newcomer, has already climbed to one of the best selling electric cars so far this year.
