Many of Ireland’s electricity companies have been slashing switching discounts and eliminating welcome bonuses in recent weeks amid the energy crisis in the Middle East.
To date, Energia, SSE Airtricity, Electric Ireland, Flogas, and Bord Gais have all significantly reduced the discounts offered to new customers switching providers.
Electricity prices have not gone up as of yet, but the pain is already being felt at the fuel pump as a major portion of the world’s oil and gas supplies are bottled up behind the Straits of Hormuz.
